I spent my childhood moving around Southeast Asia frequently, and my desire to preserve my ever-changing world, combined with my love for art, led me to photography. I picked up my first point-and-shoot in middle school, before dabbling in film photography later in 2019, amazed by how analog film preserved not just a moment, but a feeling.
In 2020, I moved to Michigan, in the midst of the Covid epidemic. Inspired by the healthcare heroes, I became a registered nurse - it took a year of tears, night shifts, and burnout for me to realize that my passion was caring for people, yes - but not in this way.
The way I loved and cared for people was in photography. In noticing human connection, in seeing the beauty in life. Again, I turned to my roots as an artist, and never looked back.
You can find me now in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in a cozy apartment with my husband James, surrounded by an abundance of houseplants, thrifted goods, and music.
The garden photo collective is my love letter to life, to the beauty of human connection, and to you. I’m here to document your love story with intention, creativity, and care - so that years from now, you can look back and relive the way that moment felt, all over again.
The moments worth photographing are the ones that are real. My approach is a blend of gently guiding you when needed, and knowing when to step back and allow natural moments to unfold. Instead of a stiff, posed photoshoot; sessions are filled with running around, laughter, nostalgia, and moments that turn into lasting memories. You’ll leave with pretty photos, yes, but more than that, an experience worth remembering.
