The question your wedding photographers and planners love to ask you! Each has its own perks, and serve a beautiful purpose for different couples. Let me break down each one for you real quick!

THE FIRST LOOK:
- More private and intimate. There’s less pressure to perform and react in front of a crowd. It calms nerves, and you get to spend time with your partner more throughout the rest of the day
- A more relaxed timeline. It gives you time before your ceremony to get in some portraits – whether its couples photos or the full bridal party!
- It’s easier for you to join your guests at cocktail hour – since you’ve gotten some photos in already

THE AISLE REVEAL:
- The wow factor – you get the raw emotions that finally break at this big reveal moment. That yearning, anticipation, and all the heightened emotions, and your guests get to be part of this moment and experience it all
- Tradition is also a big factor, some will still find it superstitious to see your bride before the ceremony!
- You can take your time getting ready in the morning – before your ceremony. There are less events – portraits, first look, etc. to deal with before your ceremony begins.
There are many options in between too! First touches, where you get to spend some time together – but not see one another. Then there are private vows that follow first looks, for the couples who’d rather share their vows in private instead of publicly, during their ceremony. Some couples even get ready together, so they can spend as much time as possible together on their special day!
Whatever you choose, it will be beautiful, and most importantly, special to you. Take a look at my blog on wedding timelines to see what your day might look like with an aisle reveal vs. a first look!
